First Time Out

We survived out first time out in the TT (Jayco 28BHS). Discovered that if it is cold you really should use your furnace.....didn't sleep the first night as we were just too cold. Discovered....if you have paid for the electricity then you can and should use it (brought an electric heater but didn't use it the first night) Discovered....in our trailer you just can't have the electric heater running when you use the toaster (popped the breaker) Discovered....dog can actually break the leash when she see's something worth chasing up a tree (Pine Martin) Discovered....it is actually better to be parked a bit away from the lake when it is cold and the wind is blowing from the lake Discovered...it is just totally relaxing, beautiful and fun, fun, fun to go camping even when it is cold and rainy! We will definitely do it again soon...

RE: Beginning of our Jayco remodel

WOW....pictures can certainly send the message better then words in the case of the damage to your Jayco. It will be interesting to see your progress on this project....

Water Question

We are wondering about the "water" question. Our friends never use the water in their holding tank for cooking - they always buy bottled water. I'm just wondering, if you have sanitized your tank and lines, why shouldn't you use the water if it is from a good source? We are planning our first trip and are going to fill the fresh water tank with water from our well - we use it for everything here at home so wouldn't it be okay?

RE: Where to find Calgon?

Since we are very new to the whole TT business I am curious to know why you need Calgon for the black water tank. We just picked up our trailer last week and are planning to take it out for it's maiden voyage next weekend.
